Fall is in the air – time to set yourself up for Success!
Fall is the perfect time to take steps towards setting yourself up for a strong finish this year so take action to jumpstart your business into a new level of profitability. Consider these three tips to put yourself on the path to making an even more fantastic year!
Take Stock: where are you in relationship to the goals you set early this year? Are your goals outdated or even still relevant? Sometimes goals can become roadblocks to success, so making sure that you are in alignment and have a feeling of excitement about them is a good measure of whether or not you will actually accomplish them. Toss out anything or delegate any goal that doesn’t elicit these feelings in you. Take some time to evaluate where you are and decide where you intend to be in the next year, or in two years, or in five years.
Remember goals should be a bit of a stretch, yet achievable. And keep in mind that the best goals are specific and measurable. What exactly does that mean? In means that you pick something that you can measure for example: increase client retention by 10% instead of getting more clients to come back more often by the end of the year. Or increase service sales by 20% in the next 90 days rather than bring in more clients. This way you have the measurements of where you are so that you can measure again when the time period is over with to see if you reached your goals.
Organize: Clean up any clutter – file it, finish it, store it or toss it, but get your home and business space cleared up and ready for a new level of business. There is something restrictive about a space that is piled with too much paperwork, or in the case of your massage room(s) too much furniture or equipment. Clear the lines of energy by creating spaces that allow you to work effortlessly and gracefully.
When you clean up clutter your mind will also feel freed up, there is something about our physical environment that impacts our minds and bodies. Who better to understand this than us massage therapists!
Take Time Seriously: Start off by taking your time seriously, it is your revenue generator. An action plan will help you to become more productive, which does not mean being more busy. Being productive means getting the right things done, being productive means getting the priority items that will move you forward attended to first. Honor your time and take a look at how you could potentially become more effective in your use of time. For example if you consistently go over in your treatments you are giving away time that could be better spent on marketing or implementing systems that will help you grow your business. Now I can hear some of you thinking “but by giving my client more time I am building relationship!”. There may be some truth to that but really the bottom line is that you are training your client to expect more of you than they paid for AND then you begin establishing a behavior or habit that will find you over delivering to your clients and under valuing your worth.
So burst into fall with passion, a plan and create more profits for yourself!
