Creating a Healthy Relationship with Money!
How is your relationship with Money? Are you constantly chasing after it? Is there never enough to meet your needs? Many of us feel out of control around money – we don’t know how to make it or even if we make it we don’t know how to keep it.
Money isn’t your problem; your relationship with money and what you are doing (or not doing) with it is the problem.
Our past history and experience with money can sabotage our earning potential if we make negative and fear based decisions around money. In order for this to shift we must recognize how powerful our words and thoughts are around money.
In order to tap into the power we possess to create more abundance in our lives we must become conscious of our thoughts, words and actions around money. It isn’t just thinking abundance thoughts – if this were all it took everyone would be wealthy!
Three keys to begin a healthy relationship with money:
In each touch point with your money have the feeling of empowerment and/or gratitude around it – for example write “Thanks” on your checks in the memo area. Giving thanks for your ability to pay a bill instead of having a negative feeling about it will make a difference.
Be committed to knowing where you stand – don’t be an ostrich and stick your head in the sand around money even if the picture isn’t pretty. Figure out where you are and discover the gap between where you what to be and your current reality. Be mindful of your emotions – stay in an observer mode so that you don’t stress out about your current financial condition.
Start keeping a daily log of your income – focusing on the positive side of money flowing into your life will help keep that flow coming and growing – celebrate everything you make! Like any meaningful change that we decide to make in our lives the intention to change our relationship with money takes commitment and action. More than likely the spiritual side of your relationship with money is what needs your attention now; lay the foundation with a daily practice of gratitude.
